Robert Pierre Lamont “Thokahe Wanbli” (Leading Eagle), 87, of Fast Horse Creek, S.D., passed away October 18, 2020, in Sioux Falls.
Robert Pierre Lamont was born on May 17, 1933, in Fast Horse Creek to Cecelia (Fast Horse) Lamont and John Lamont. Robert made his journey to the Spirit World on October 18, 2020, at the Sanford USD Medical Center and Hospital in Sioux Falls. He was a Veteran of the Marines.
Robert is survived by his sisters, Catherine Hudson, and Alice Lamont, both of Gordon, Neb.; step-children, Lisa Picotte, Jasey Picotte, Carlos Picotte, and Ruben Fast Horse; grandson, Mason Picotte; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand-children.
Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Hollow Horn-Lamont; second wife, Mavis Fast Horse-Lamont; parents, John Lamont and Cecelia Fast Horse-Lamont; brothers, Gus Lamont and Wilbur Fast Horse; sisters, Angelique Ohona, Marie Espinoza, Rebecca Burden, Florence Green, and Althea Rose Lamont, and step-daughter, JoAnn Thunder Horse-Little Moon.
Visitation services were held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, at the Church of God in Wounded Knee.
Graveside services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, at the Lakota Freedom Veterans Cemetery in Kyle, with Cecelia Spotted Bear and Stanley Hollow Horn officiating.
