Leon Anthony LaDeaux, 58, of Manderson, S.D., passed away October 22, 2020, in Pine Ridge.
Leon Anthony LaDeaux was born on March 19, 1962, in Pine Ridge to Antoine LaDeaux and Marlene Bad Bear. Leon made his journey to the Spirit World on October 22, 2020, in Pine Ridge.
Leon is survived by his son, Angelo Richards; granddaughter, Sioux Dawn Bianas; siblings, Lisa Looks Twice, Abraham LaDeaux, Jr., Marla LaDeaux, Bernadine LaDeaux, Cleo LaDeaux, and Melanie Janis; and special friend, Mary Lou Black Crow.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Antoine LaDeaux and Marlene Bad Bear; paternal grandparents, Benny and Bessie LaDeaux; maternal grandparents, Dora Shoulders and Albert Bad Bear; niece, Gina LaDeaux; brothers, Foster Kicking Bear, Dion Bissonette, and Eugene LaDeaux; sisters, Antoinette LaDeaux and Angie LaDeaux; and several aunts and uncles.
A one night wake service was held starting at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 30, at the #9 Community Church in Manderson.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 31, at the #9 Community Church in Manderson, with Pastor Jeremy Moux officiating and Mr. Sidney Has No Horse performing the traditional Lakota services.
Burial services were held at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Cemetery in Manderson.
