Gwendolyn Louise Ecoffey-Minhas

Gwendolyn “Gwennie” Louise Ecoffey-Minhas “Hinhan Win” (Owl Woman), 86, of Arvada, Colo., passed away November 7, 2020, in Rushville, Neb.

Gwen was born March 25, 1934, on the Pine Ridge reservation to her parents, Lawrence “Prunes” Ecoffey and Norma Colhoff. She was raised by her Grandfather, John R. Colhoff, during WWII. 

Gwen is survived by her children, James Ecoffey, Beatrice Ornelas, Norma Rendon and Tanya Ball; her stepchildren, whom she raised as her own, Zeke, Raza and Sherin Minhas; 15 grandchildren; sisters, Sissy Eagle Bull, Lindy Trueblood and Gloria Goggles; and several nieces and nephews.

Gwen is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Ecoffey and Norma Colhoff; her other Mother, Gladys Ecoffey; her other Father, Jack Prande; grandparents, Rose Nelson, Joe Ecoffey, John R. Colhoff, Fannie Pulliam, Sintehla, Mary Hand and George Colhoff; husband, Mike Minhas; sister, Jackie Palmier; uncles; aunts; a nephew; daughter, Tina Gonzales; and son, Benji Ecoffey. 

Burial arrangements and honorary pallbearers to be announced at a later date.
