Gerry Lee Marshall

Gerry Lee Marshall, 81, of Batesland passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, at her home. 

She was born April 21, 1940, in Naponee, Neb. to Robert and Vesta Soderlin. On December 31, 1956, she married Richard (Dick) Marshall. The couple lived and raised their family on the farm near Batesland. Gerry Lee was always busy cooking and baking making sure no one went hungry. She also enjoyed visiting with friends and family on the phone or over coffee and a cake she had just baked when you came to visit, working in the garden and attending to her plants and flowers. She was a bus driver for Shannon County for many years, she ended her career as a Post Mistress for 37 years, she enjoyed bowling on several leagues, this kept her busy during her free time when she was not busy working or in the kitchen. 

Gerry Lee is survived by her sons Jim (Cosette) Marshall, Gordon, Neb., Rick Marshall, Rapid City, her daughters Deb Baxter, Ogallala, Jody (Ryan) Postell, Alliance, and Shawna (Brad) Shettler, Wayland, Iowa, 17 Grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, four brothers, two sisters and numerous nephews and nieces. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert Soderlin and Vesta Soderlin, her husband Dick Marshall, daughter Tresea Marshall, son Tracy Marshall, granddaughter Miranda Marshall. 

Rosary was held Monday, December 27, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Martin, at 7 p.m., Memorial Services were held Tuesday, December 28, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic church in Martin, at 10 a.m., burial followed at the Gordon Cemetery at 1 p.m.

Memorials may be given to Our lady Of Lourdes Mission, Porcupine, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
