Aaron Paul Bettelyoun

Aaron Paul Bettelyoun, 49, of Wanblee, S.D., passed away March 28, 2022, near Martin.

Aaron Paul Bettelyoun was born on April 19, 1972 in Pine Ridge, SD to Grover Dean Bettelyoun and Sherry (Smith) Peck. Aaron made his journey to the Spirit world on March 28, 2022 near Martin. 

Aaron is survived by his spouse, Alice Standing Soldier; children, Robert Bettelyoun, Dalton Bettelyoun, Maizie Bettelyoun, and Madison Bettelyoun; grandson, Zakaius Paul Bettelyoun; brothers, Barry Bettelyoun and Randy Bettelyoun; aunts, Deborah Flores and Denise Smith-Salway; uncle, Linn Bettelyoun; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Aaron was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Bettelyoun and Sherry (Smith) Peck; brother, Jeffrey Dean Bettelyoun; grandparents, Raymond and Sarah Smith and Dennison and Maizie Bettelyoun; aunt, Bonnie Bettelyoun; uncles, Marvin Bettelyoun, John Bettelyoun, and Don Bettelyoun; and cousin, Penelope Salway.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Merchant, Darrell Marshall, Michael Brown, Tubby Little Bear, Richard Conquering Bear, Irvin Salway, Craig Dillon, Nate Salway, Norman Standing Soldier, Mary Hudson, Nash Bettelyoun, Sherry DeSersa, Sharla, Shannon, Shelly, Loni, and Linn Bettelyoun, Corey and Wade Bettelyoun, Fred Bush, Josh and Matt Little Eagle, Sam, Alfred, Ralph, and Chuck Richards and Families, Corrine and Rick Red Blanket, Sam and Loretta Grey Eagle, Debbie Flores, Denise Salway, Barry Bettelyoun, Cottier Family, and All Friends and Relatives.

A two night wake service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 14, at the American Legion Hall in Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, at the American Legion Hall in Martin, with Pastor John Bush officiating.

Burial services will be held at a later date.
