Barbara F. Brill

July 8, 1938 - October 17, 2023

Barbara F. Brill, daughter of late Harley Larabee and Rhea Estes was born July 8, 1938 in Springview, Nebr. She passed away at the age of 85 at the Rapid City Monument Hospital on October 17, 2023.

In her early years the family moved to South Dakota residing in Yellow Bear and Martin. There she attended and graduated from Bennett County High School. Barbara went on to be an Educator where she taught at Potato Creek School and Pleasant Hill School near Long Valley. During this time she met her future husband, Clayton Brill. They were married on July 13, 1963 in Winner. Of this union they were blessed with two sons, Brad Brill and Scott Brill. Barbara continued her education by attending Black Hills State Collage and continued her teaching career at Bennett County School District until her retirement.

Clayton and Barbara moved from Martin to Rapid City and resided at the Edgewood Assisted Living Community in 2016 and lived there until her passing. There she made many beautiful friendships which includes her very best friend, Kay Kautz.

Barbara’s beautiful life be will be cherished and remembered in the lives of her sons, Bradley Brill of Nacogdoches, Tex. and Scott Brill of Rapid City. She will also be dearly missed by her two brothers, John Larabee, sister in-law Dorothy Larabee of Martin, and Jim Larabee, sister in-law Joanne Larabee of Scotland, as well as her nieces, nephews and many other extended family members and friends.

Preceding in her death is her husband Clayton Brill and parents Harley Larabee and Rhea Brill.

Visitation was held at Kirk Funeral Home in Rapid City on Sunday, October 22. A graveside service was held Monday, October 23, at the Martin Community Cemetery.
