Michael Richard Martinez, 44, of Rapid City, S.D., passed away November 17, 2012 in Rapid City.

A two night wake service will be held starting Wednesday November 21, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Kennedy Hall, Wanblee.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 23, at the Kennedy Hall, Wanblee, with Reverend Craig West, Mr. Dick, and Carol Lee officiating.

Burial will be at Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery, Wanblee.

Survivors include daughters, Erinn Martinez and Danya Andrews, Rapid City; parents, Rose and Donald Standing Bear, Rapid City; siblings, Don Standing Bear Jr., Rebecca Standing Bear, Lori Standing Bear, all of Rapid City, and Dana Standing Bear, Sioux Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael R. Martinez was born on August 17, 1968, In Phoenix, Ariz. Michael also Known as “Mickey” “Mike”, enjoyed every minute of life. He made the best out of every situation, never took anything for granted. He loved music, especially Van Halen. He liked to be outdoors, he liked taking long walks, sharing his past and movies with whoever he was with at the time. He loved beading and doing artwork and drawing. He graduated from Flandreau Indian School June 2, 1987. Michael was a very humble man, very quiet and always kept to himself. He was a good listener and was always there if you needed him. He would give you a helping hand. He was a lot of things; a son, brother, uncle, cousin, and a very loving father.
