Bennett County traveled to Hot Springs last Friday to take on the Bison and it was all home team as the hosts dominated for a 44-0 win over the Warriors.
The Warriors travel to Pine Ridge this Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff against the Thorpes for their next game.
“In Friday night’s game we faced a more physical and developed football team,” said coach Tucker Risse. “Their ability to compete and play as a team was good. They obviously have been expanding their physical and mental state of football. This is something I hope our program at BCHS can start to set as a standard. This game showed our entire team that, we are not as strong or prepared as we need to be physically, disciplined, and ready to play.”
“We do have a group of good kids, when they play with courage, they see results,” added Risse. “I believe DeAndre Cottier played a good game offensively making good blocks.Unfortunately we did have some early injuries that took some of our players out of the game. With the score being what it was, we did not want to heighten the risk of more severe injuries. This resulted in some other kids getting some playing time. Toward the end of the game I had seen some fundamental sound plays. Henry Johnson was getting off blocks and getting in on tackles. Ace Hahn made a nice catch. Same Byrne gave a really nice effort as well. All in all, we have a lot of teaching and corrections to be made, that is expected though. I want to encourage these young men to keep working hard an finish the season out well. Also a shout out to cheerleaders who are always supporting us and our fans to cheer loud.”
