Highly regarded Todd County exploded for 41 first quarter points in the first round of the Region 7A playoffs enroute to a 68-15 win over Bennett County, ending the Lady Warriors season on Monday night in Todd County.
The Lady Falcons led 41-7 after one and 55-12 at the half.
Bennett County played solid defense in the third quarter holding the Lady Falcons to just three points, however they managed only a three-pointer from Lexi Bair to make it 58-15 heading to the final quarter. Todd County shut out the Lady Warriors in the fourth for the final score of 68-15.
Keisha Rayhill, Lexi Bair and Nicole Porch all had three points for the Warriors while Stefonna Salomon, Erica Bakley and Jessica Begeman added a field goal each.
The Warriors season ended with a 3-18 record while Todd County improved to 19-2. Todd County lost by two points earlier in the season to undefeated Winner and lost to Red Cloud by one point.
Todd County was led by Raven Cournoyer with 23 points and Kelsie Herman with 16 — all of their points in the first half.
Todd County went 9 of 16 from the free throw line while Bennett County was 0 for 8.
Todd County will face Pine Ridge Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. MT. Red Cloud defeated Little Wound and will face Winner in the other game.
