Golfers take on brutal weather conditions in Philip

By Coach Abbie Saxton

Wind and cold do not come close to describing the brutal weather conditions that took place at the Philip Invite last Friday. Our golfers faced raging winds, temperatures that bounced from warm to cold, and a vicious ten minute rain brought on by a minor thunderstorm.

The second varsity tournament of the year brought many improvements to the golf team. Many of our golfers were able to improve their scores by a large margin of strokes. The BC girls ran a tight race with each other this week. Sophomore, Thea DuBray, made her golfing debut in Philip by shooting a score of 120. Katie McDonnell finished with a score of 121, followed by Lily Alexander with 126, and Grace Jager with 166. For the boys, Titan Soderlin kept consistent scoring a 102, followed by Weston Ireland with 111, Gage Jager with 123, and Deandre Standing Bear with 141.

All golfers did a great job overcoming the weather and improved tremendously. The team is excited to continue to move forward and prepare for their upcoming meet in Newell this Friday.
