By Taylor Risse

Bennett County Lady Warriors picked up their third win of the season and first win at home on Saturday, October 5, against a weak Jones County team. Big kills, awesome dives and good saves pushed the Lady Warriors to a 3-0 win over the Lady Coyotes.

In the first set the score stayed close, but big kills from Nicole Porch and senior Laska Ward edged out the Lady Coyotes, and helped the Warriors to a 25-12 victory.

Bennett County jumped out to a 5-0 lead at the beginning of the second set. A kill from Stefonna Salomon got the ball back for the Warriors and helped them to a 12-4 lead. Jones County stole the momentum and came back from a 18-7 gap before the Lady Warriors finished the set 25-20.

The third set was close, with the Lady Warriors keeping the lead, but Jones County right at their heels. The Warriors ended up with the 25-19 win.

Capitalizing on long rallies and good digging kept the Lady Warriors in the lead all night.

The Lady Warriors’ next game is Thursday, October 10, in Gordon, with a start time of 6:00 p.m.
