New Underwood shoots by Lady Warriors

The Bennett County Lady Warrior volleyball team hosted their last home game of the season on Tuesday, October 29, against the New Underwood Lady Tigers. The Lady Warriors fought a tough battle but fell 3-0.

Bennett County started the game on fire, keeping up with the Lady Tigers. In the middle of the set, New Underwood capitalized on a couple of long rallies and spread the point gap 22-17. Kills from New Underwood’s junior, Cerington Jones, ended the set 25-19.

Laska Ward started the second set off with a big kill that turned the momentum in the favor of the Warriors. A few minor mistakes kept the Lady Tigers slightly ahead all the way through the set. A four point serving run for senior Chloe Risse helped the Warriors to gain the lead. A hot server from New Underwood pushed the Tigers to end the set 25-18.

The Lady Tigers came into the third set with a no-nonsense attitude and quickly got away from the Warriors. Big kills from the Lady Tigers kept the Warriors behind. Warrior senior Lily Alexander created a small serving run which helped the Warriors to close the gap. Laska Ward helped end the set with a few big blocks but the Warriors fell 25-20.
