Jr. High volleyball teams take second in B.C. Tournament

The Jr. High Volleyball teams hosted the Bennett County Invitational Tournament Oct. 6 in Martin.
In the 7th grade pool play, Bennett County captured 2nd in the pool. These girls played their hearts out all day, playing with only five girls on the court for many of their sets.
Bennett County defeated Todd County 17-25, 25-19, and 15-9
Bennett County lost to Philip 16-25 and 25-20 and 10-15

In 8th grade pool play, Bennett County finished 2nd.

Top scorers and outstanding performances from Rachel Ireland, Karissa Rayhill, and Courtney McDonnell.
Due to shortage of players on the 7th grade team, Rachel Ireland played on both teams. She was shuttled to the Activity Center between games at the Legion and helped her teammates out on that court in addition to being a valuable team member of the 8th grade team.
The remainder of our season takes place this week with a game at St. Francis on Friday and the White River Tournament on Saturday.
Other results: Valentine 9-18-12, the 7th grade lost in 2 games, 12-25 and 7-25.

There were eight games total played during the pool. The Warriors won 4, lost 4. We split games, won 1 lost 1, with Jones Co. and Wall. Lost 2 to Philip, and then won both vs. Kadoka
