The BCHS wrestling team competed in the Mid-Dakota Monster wrestling tournament held in Presho this past Friday and Saturday.  This is one of the better wrestling tournaments held in South Dakota with teams from all across the state.  It was definitely the toughest tournament we have been to so far this season with 23 teams competing and dozens of ranked wrestlers.…

Lady Warriors take down Wall Use strong fourth quarter for win

After a heartbreaking overtime loss to a good Hill City team Friday night in Martin, Bennett County’s girls high school basketball coach Ken Soderlin said his girls need to learn how to finish the game. The Bennett County High School wrestling team competed in two tournaments this past week. On Tuesday, we traveled to Pine Ridge for the West River Conference tourney. Teams competing (in order of finish): Todd Co. 210, Bennett Co. 187, Pine Ridge 120, Red Cloud 41, and Little Wound 22.

The Bennett County Boys basketball team has found the road a bad place to be lately and the bad news is, they are in the middle of a nine straight road games stretch and it doesn’t get any easier.

Lady Warriors claim overtime win in Lyman

Bennett County snapped an early season losing streak at three by rallying in the fourth quarter to defeat Lyman Saturday in Presho, 28-27.

Both teams struggled offensively, resulting in the low scoring contest. Bennett County led 4-1 after one quarter and Lyman led 9-7 at the half.

Bennett County puts away Gordon-Rushville falls to St. Francis and Lyman

Bennett County rebounded from a Tuesday pounding to put a hurt on Gordon-Rushville Friday, but lost to Lyman Saturday in a busy week of boys basketball action.

Dec. 11, the St. Francis boys basketball team shot out of the gates with a 15-0 first quarter lead, then put a 67-39 pounding on Bennett County in Martin.
