The South Dakota Primary Election is set for Tuesday, June 4, with several offices up for election. The Bennett County Commission race has two seats up for election, drawing six candidates, five of them Republicans.
Rain and snow bring needed moisture

Things were getting a little dry in the region so the moisture over the weekend and Monday was a blessing to farmers and ranchers. About three quarters of an inch of rain fell in many areas Saturday evening into Sunday. That was followed up by a good snowfall that had very little wind, putting a nice even blanket across the ground that will melt nice and slow and soak in nicely.

Losette Asong named district Teacher of the Year

By Tim Huether The Bennett County School District has named Losette Asong as their 202324 Teacher of the Year for the District, according to High School Principal Craig Courbron at the March 21 regular school board meeting. “She will now compete in the Regional Teacher of the Year competition,” said Courbron.
