BC boys season ends at hands of third rated Pine Ridge

By Tim Huether The Bennett County Warriors boys basketball team faced a tall task last Tuesday in Pine Ridge, taking on the state’s number three rated Pine Ridge Thorpes in the first round of Region 7A playoffs. Pine Ridge lived up to their rating with an 87-36 win, improving to 19-1 on the season.

Warriors to send numerous wrestlers to AAU Region Meet

Bennett County youth wrestlers competed in the District 2 meet held in Hill City on Saturday, March 2. The top 8 wrestlers from each bracket advanced to the region meet which will be held on Saturday, March 9 in Spearfish. The top three qualify for the state meet, region 1 will take the top four in the midget division this year. State will be held March 16-17, in Rapid City.

By Tim Huether Fifth seeded Lakota Tech traveled to Martin Feb. 20, for a first round playoff matchup in girls high school basketball against the fourth seeded Bennett County Warriors and the visitors pulled away for a 69-42 win.

BC boys rally falls short at Red Cloud in season finale

By Tim Huether The Bennett County Warriors put together a furious rally in the fourth quarter at Red Cloud, turning a 20 point deficit in the third quarter to a four point gap in the fourth. Red Cloud took an 11-3 lead, forcing a Warrior time out.
