On November 9, 1952, Dixie Lee Becker was born in Martin, S.D. She was the fifth child of Bill and Beulah (Rayhill) Becker. She graduated from Bennett County High School in 1971. Dixie married George Kosmicki in 1974, and they lived on a farm south of Martin. Dixie and George raised three sons, Patrick, Joseph, and Nicholas. Of course, Bruno, their dog completed the family. After various jobs in Martin, she was the office manager for Doug O’Bryan Contracting until she retired. Once she was introduced to the sport of golf, it became a favorite pastime for her and her sister Ruth. Dixie also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, eating at the Senior Citizens Center, walking and visiting with her many friends. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Dixie would always see the bright and funny side of any situation. She loved animals and would feed the stray cats that would find their way to her house.

Dixie attended The Living Word Community Church; she had an amazing faith in God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Her sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren were most precious to her.

Those left to cherish the memory of Dixie are Patrick (Tanya), Idaho Falls, ID and their children Jordon and Luke Cole (grandchildren Trey and Zoe Cole), Jonnie and Wyatt Strasburg (granddaughter Greer Strasburg), Jake and Katana Mueller (granddaughter Paige Mueller) and Marcus Ireland, Joe (Calli) and children Madison, Kaleb, Carter and Cat, Rapid City, and Nick (Heather Berg) and daughter Aster McNally, Windsor, Colo. Other family survivors are Peggy Livermont, Rapid City, Nancy (Kenny) Sterkel, Jerry (Anita) Becker, Ruth Becker, and Sandy (Larry) Gauer, Martin, and many extended family members and friends.

Dixie was preceded in death by her father, mother, and niece Beth Becker.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at the American Legion in Martin, with burial at the Martin Community Cemetery.
