Marilyn Madelyn Crooked Eyes was born on June 21, 1945 to Ellis Crooked Eyes and Evelyn Rose Bear Shield in Wounded Knee, S.D. Marilyn made her journey to the Spirit World on February 14, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City.
Marilyn is survived by her children, Betty Ray Fox, Dennis Jacob Kills Right, and Michele Kills Right; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren - Shannon Wayne Struble, Thelma Ann Tail, Matthew John and Lynette Crooked Eyes, James Charles Crooked Eyes, Carl Dylan Crooked Eyes, Evelyn Rose Crooked Eyes, Racheal Aoloni Crooked Eyes, Echo Dream Crooked Eyes, Gary Lee “Yamni” Bear Runner, Diamond Katheryn Crooked Eyes, Toya Elizabeth Yellow Shield, Andreonna Rose Crooked Eyes, Evangeline Faye Little Moon, Destiny Paige Little Moon, James Charles Crooked Eyes, Jr., Jade Rose Crooked Eyes, Dennis Jacob Kills Right I, Derek Jorma Jealous of Him, Briseis Shilo Lynn Crooked Eyes, Natavius Sarge Crooked Eyes, Samuel Charles Rouillard III, Zachariah Frank Poor Bear, Jr., Elijah Dale Crooked Eyes, Isadora Rosely Little Moon, Dennis Jacob Kills Right II, and Jeffery James Cross.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Evelyn Bear Shield and Ellis Crooked Eyes; brothers, Gary Lee and Francis Crooked Eyes, and Moses Dawn; sisters, Yvonne Crooked Eyes and Mary Jane Crooked Eyes; nephew, Gary Lee Crooked Eyes, Jr.; and granddaughter, Shanelle Bear Runner.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Crooked Eyes, Aloysious Little Moon, Steven Bear Eagle, Austin Crow, Chaske Bear Eagle, Dreyton Dodge, Randy Little Moon, Larry Mercado, James Crooked Eyes, Sr., and Brennan Ten Fingers, Sr.

Wake services were held Friday, February 23, 2024 and funeral services were held Saturday, February 24, 2024, both at the Messiah Episcopal Church in Wounded Knee, officiated by Rev. Harold Eagle Bull.
Burial services were provided by Johnson Memorial Presbyterian Cemetery of Wounded Knee and arrangements were entrusted with Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge.
