December 29, 1942 - January 31, 2024

Rose Ann (Risse) Jacquot, 81, passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nev. Rose was born December 29, 1942 in Martin, S.D. where she was the last of eight siblings. She went to a country school on horseback through eighth grade and then graduated from Bennett County High School. Rose spotted the love of her life at just 17 while she was in the choir at church and Dave sat with his siblings near the front of the church. Rose pointed at Dave and said to her friends, “I want that one.” They started dating right away and two years later they married in their home town church of Martin. They started out farming, had three children, and then decided to start a new journey with Dave going to college. Rose supported her husband as he pursued his career in veterinary medicine. That journey took the family to Nebraska, Kansas, and then Alturas, Cali., where they settled in 1979. With Rose always by Dave’s side, they raised their family, built a successful business, and became deeply rooted in the community of Alturas. Rose worked in physical therapy, a local insurance office, and Lynetta Ranches.

Everyone that knew Rose, also knew she loved gardening. She was always ready to take you on a tour of her flower garden and share her bounty, which was always plentiful. Her kids often would hear from some in the community, “we love those Jacquot tomatoes”. Rose was also deeply dedicated and committed to Sacred Heart Catholic Church where her love of God and community is woven in the fabric of the church.

Rose loved God above all, shared an unconditional love with her husband whom she was married to for 62 years, and was so proud of her children and grandchildren. Dave shared that she was a “jewel” of a wife, mother, friend, and family woman.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Dave Jacquot; daughter Rosemary (Virgil) Jochim of Malin, Oreg.; son Scott (Tamara) Jacquot of Bloomington, Illi.; son Dan (Shanna) Jacquot of Rochester, Wash.; ten grand kids, Hunter, Alicia, Tasha, Colton, Shelby, Erin, Matthew, Ben, Grace, Nick; and 10 great-grand kids. She is also survived by her oldest sister, Bernadine Smith of Alliance, Nebr. She will also be missed by many Risse and Jacquot family members in South Dakota and Nebraska.

The family wants to thank the Modoc Medical Center, the flight service, and Renown Hospital for there compassion and care for their dear wife and mother.

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Please join the family in fellowship after the service in the church parrish hall.

A Rosary, Mass, and Burial will be held in Martin on Friday, June 28, beginning at 10 a.m.
